Endoscopic Brain Surgery is an equally powerful technique as the conventional “open” surgery but is less invasive. This surgery utilizes small flexible, light tubes that are called the endoscopes. The endoscopes are used to visualize various parts of the brain, spinal cord or skull base through small openings. The endoscopes are fitted with the imaging tools that serve as the small microscopes that magnify the critical anatomical structures allowing the surgeons to easily see the various diseased areas requiring repair, removal or replacement. The recovery in endoscopic brain surgery is faster than conventional surgery.
